Her Story. A series of blog posts telling the stories of 'women who ride' from all corners of the globe. We hope that by sharing these stories we can help encourage other women to build their confidence, learn from others and inspire others.
This month we have a story by Meg Kanai, 28 years old from Tokyo, Japan. Meg was inspired to start riding by manga and is currently into moto camping.
We hope you enjoy her story!
My name is Meg Kanai and I am 28 years old living in Tokyo, Japan. I'm a freelance model and post cool photos of myself with my bike on Instagram. I got my motorcycle license two years ago, and now I ride a KTM DUKE 250 and a TRIUMPH STREET SCRAMBLER 900.
The reason I became interested in motorcycles was the influence of the manga "GTO" (do you know everyone?). I admired the hero Eikichi Onizuka riding a cool Kawasaki Zephyr, and it made me want to ride a cool one too someday.
When I became an adult and got my license, the possibilities were endless.
The bike gave me the feeling of cutting through the wind, the excitement of holding the handlebars, and a new side of me that I didn't even know existed.
Being a curious person, I am still in the process of exploring, but the most fun I have right now is solo camping on a motorcycle. I enjoy relaxing at my campsite after the ride, having a few drinks which I enjoy while grilling meat and zucchini at camp.
Also, I like fashion and art, and one of my pleasures is taking pictures of my favorite motorcycles in a cool and fashionable way. My dream is to create good works not only in Japan but also in various places with fine art photographers from various countries!
From now on, I want to meet a lot of myself and scenery that I don't know, thank you for reading this far!
