CARING FOR YOUR GLOVES 101.
“When you show others love, you are shown love.
When you give love, you receive love.”
~ Donald L. Hicks
(NOT SO) SECRET DESIRES
Those tags attached to your gloves are not there to test your ability to recall where you last put the scissors. Look closely and you will see that your gloves have entrusted you with their deepest desires. Au revoir high maintenance! The wash & care label takes the guesswork out of how your gloves wish to be treated.
Different materials have different needs, which is why you should take the wash & care label as gospel, above any other advice!
TREAT ‘EM CLEAN, KEEP ‘EM KEEN
Ditch the candles and rose petals; a romantic rub down for your gloves is relatively no-fuss.
One of the best ways to keep your gloves in top condition is to regularly wipe them down with a clean cloth and lukewarm water. No need to overdo it with the water; they don't like a wet spot!
LEATHER LOVES.
ALWAYS USE PROTECTION
If it’s not on, it’s not on!
Before your first date with a pair of new leather loves, woo them with a luxurious lathering of The Original Australian Leather Seal. An organic, chemical-free, beeswax-based leather conditioner, abundant in nature’s gifts from the outback. All-natural leather care solutions are the best way to treat leather without discolouring it.
Your gloves can easily be won over by waterproofing, protecting & conditioning them with this lush leather protector.
APPLYING PROTECTION
|
1. TAKE THINGS SLOW.
Carry out a patch test. Choose a small, inconspicuous area to apply a conservative amount of The Original Australian Leather Seal. If your leather loves turn out to be the sensitive type and you notice something untoward in their reaction, cease wooing.
2. THE HEAT IS ON.
Warm your gloves up for the magic that is about to happen. Before applying, allow them a warming stint in the sun to open the pores of the leather.
3. GET PHYSICAL.
Using a clean, lint-free cloth, apply the beeswax formula to your gloves (and get a gratis aromatherapy session while you are at it). Be a generous lover: work that conditioner into seams and stitching. Leave your gloves to soak up the juicy goodness for about 15-30 minutes.(Procrastinator’s jackpot: you can leave it longer!)
4. HAPPY ENDING.
With a new clean cloth, buff off any residue on the surface of the gloves and see how your gloves smile back at you!

REKINDLE THAT FLAME
The key to long term success.
Re-ignite the spark by re-conditioning your leather gloves throughout the course of your relationship.
The leather will tell you when it needs attention. Look for signs of dryness or leakage. Gloves that are used more frequently or more harshly will require more love.
Treat the leather in your gloves and they will stay clean, stain-free, and healthy for the long haul.
LEATHER DOESN’T DO COMPLICATED
As a child of nature, it prefers the simple things in life.
Your leather gloves, for the most part, will be content with a wipe down from a damp cloth. Avoid using soap or citrus cleaning products.
If you couldn’t quite wait to chow down that pie, you still had your gloves on and now you have a mustard stain to contend with, use a leather treatment product that will remove the stain, but not the dye. The best way to deal with the headache of trying to remove a pesky stain is prevention! An all-natural leather conditioner is to stains as garlic is to vampires!
Whenever your leather loves get wet, hang them to dry at room temperature. To preserve the integrity of your leather, don’t leave them in direct sunlight or try to decrease drying time by using a dryer or any other heat source.
FOR THE LOVE OF TEXTILE.
Before being tempted to chuck your textile gloves in your regular wash alongside your dirty socks and panties, just remember that textile needs to feel special too.
How you wash your textile gloves and what you wash it with, helps to maintain the shape of the glove and prevents damage to the material. Many textile gloves are treated with a waterproof protectant, or they may have a waterproof or breathable membrane, so always follow the advice on the care label.
SOME LIKE IT ROUGH
(By machine)
The care label will let you know whether your textile gloves like it rough or not. Although some textile gloves can be washed in the machine, they still need that little bit of extra TLC! Opt for a cold gentle cycle (maximum 30°).
Dry them a-la-natural, at room temperature, and out of direct sunlight.
THE SENSITIVE TYPE
(By hand)
Some textile gloves may be a little bit more sensitive than others, so you may need to tend to their needs with a treatment that would rival a trip to even the most reputable Turkish bath.

*THEY DON'T WANT NO SCRUBS: If your gloves include a waterproof or breathable membrane, don’t scrub them.
